Powder Room

I am continuing my review of the house with the hallway and powder room on the main floor.

The hallway leading towards the great room is 4ft wide. This is a quilt I had a hand in making with a group of friends. After it was done traveling the show circuit, they gave it to me as a house warming gift.

A bit down from the quilt and on the opposite side is a display niche. The door to the right of the niche is the door into the powder room.

I really need to get something on the wall above the toilet. I like the giraffe (Bali) there, but he is a bit short.

Love the vanity. The top is easy to clean. I just wipe it down and every once in awhile I wipe butcher's wax on it. It does show water spots and has a bit of a living finish, but that is what I want. I want it to look old and used. The floor is slate and doesn't show a thing. I have to remind myself to wash it down.

There is a display niche opposite the toilet.

I just added the taller feather to this vase. I found it out in the yard, as well as the other feather, which is a red tail hawk feather. The small pottery is from Bali. The elephant is from Thailand.

I love this mirror, but I really don't see the detail much, since it is so high. I agonized over mirrors in the bathrooms and found this one at my lighting studio.

I love this sink. The color is a bit brighter than this photo shows.

The wall is paint, with a glaze over it. I did it myself. After the wood trim was added, I realized that the color is almost the same as the color of the wood. The wood is darkening with time, but this will probably be the first room I will change the wall color. I love the color and the glaze, but it is just not the right color with the woodwork.
