For the Love of Sleep

Who would have thought after writing a daily blog for more than a year that I would be negligent with mine now. I am taking a rest, but in the meantime, I will try to post new photos of our house.

I haven't been able to decorate our bedroom yet, but I do love the color of the walls. Once again, it is Sherwin-Williams Quietude.

We took the lightest color on the same strip that the Quietude was on and cut that in half for the ceiling, so the ceiling has a slight color to it. You mainly see it in the shadows of the evening, before the lights are turned on. The photo below is looking out the door, towards the laundry room. The closet is to the right.

This door goes out to a small deck, that leads to the patio behind the mudroom. There is a shade between the two panes of glass. The screen will probably not stay in this room. I bough it ages ago, after seeing it in a home magazine and finding it at a local furniture store. It was made in the Philippines.

The carpet is made from corn and is a chocolate brown, with a bit of gray thrown in. It is incredibly squishy and soft.

The closet fixtures are hard maple, with no stain. Behind the door into the closet, is a three wide stack of cubbies for shoes. To the right of that is a full length mirror, above a bench. Then there is a stack of drawers.

This is a better shot of the shoe cubbies, empty.

To the right of the stack of drawers are two double stacks of hanging space, with a sweater cubbie in between them. The hanging rods can be moved up and down or taken out entirely.

Around the corner, to the right of the door as you go in, is another double stack of hanging space and another stack of drawers. There is a bar with a few hooks to the right of the drawer unit.

The space is laid out nicely. I might need more cubbie space than I have, but I am now hanging more stuff than I would normally hang.
